Fenacor

FENACOR is the national Spanish professional association that brings together individual tyre distributors, repairers and automotive aftermarket service agents with a strong interest in tyre service. Membership is open to all tyre specialist businesses and related tyre service providers, both on an individual basis as well as through their respective local, provincial or regional associations.

Suppliers are also encouraged to join as members so as to ensure effective coordination and actions. Over time, changes in the tyre aftermarket have shaped FENACOR’s structure and activities.

A major change occurred some years ago when the retread industry decided to create their own association, AER, Asociación Española de Neumáticos Reciclados, although many retread members who are also involved in distribution continue to support both associations.

Areas of permanent concern and activities are the following:

• Tyre safety with emphasis on correct tyre pressure and tread-depth as well as proper storing, selection, fitting, balancing, alignment and repair.

• Environmental protection FENACOR is playing a major role in implementing environmental protection standards, measures and legislation in relation to a variety of issues like: used-tyre disposal, non-lead balance weights, nitrogen filling for reduced pressure loss and subsequent fuel savings and emission reductions. 

• Training tailor-made training programmes are available to members who want to raise the skill-level of existing staff or prepare new entrants to the tyre-specialist trade.

• Road-safety campaigns FENACOR actively shares in Government sponsored safety campaigns, highlighting tyre-related safety aspects and organising road-side tyre-check stations.
