General introduction

Association VACO is the representative for the tyre and wheel business in The Netherlands. Representing more than 90% of all tyre activities organised in sectors of Industry (Production and Retreading), Wholesale (International, National and Regional), Distribution (Retail) and Recycling (Collecting, Sorting and Industrial recycling). Due to their speciality the sectors Agricultural Tyres, Industrial Tyres and Wheels are also organised.

VACO was founded in 1938 and started as a small group of tyre retailers and retreading companies. Today more the 1.000 business activities, including retail outlets and 8.500 employees are represented. VACO, as a full partner initiates the labour agreements, (pre)pension  and social fund, training and education, publishing and registers all article numbering for the total business to provide IT systems with the right information.

A quality label is part of the membership for retailers and an active health and safety programme is provided nationwide. Association VACO is the negotiation party for all tyre regulations, roadworthiness testing, national road safety campaigns, etc.
